Construction of Lagos Fourth Mainland Bridge Set to Begin in 2024

The construction of the Lagos Fourth Mainland Bridge is set to begin by the end of the first quarter of 2024, potentially by April, as confirmed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. This 38-kilometer bridge will be the second longest in Africa and will include three toll gates, nine interchanges, a 4.5-kilometer Lagoon Bridge, and provisions for a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane

The project, estimated to cost $2.5 billion, will be executed through a public-private partnership (PPP) with the CCECC-CRCCIG Consortium as the preferred bidder. It aims to alleviate traffic congestion and stimulate economic growth in Lagos. Extensive environmental and social impact assessments have been conducted, and stakeholders have been consulted to ensure community concerns are addressed.
