Sanwo-Olu Gifts N100,000 to Each NYSC Member in Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has gifted N100,000 to each member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who recently completed their orientation camp in the state. This announcement was made during the NYSC Passing-Out Parade and Closing Ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members, held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja on Tuesday.
Financial Support for NYSC Members
During his speech as the special guest of honor, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the hard work and dedication of the corps members. He stated, “For this batch, we have 4,254 corps members. With all sense of responsibility and because you have been hardworking, you will all go home with N100,000. The money will be made available into your accounts by next week, and your directors will credit your account. In addition to the financial gifts to the corps members, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a significant pledge towards the construction of a permanent site for the NYSC Orientation Camp in Lagos State. He committed N5 billion to start the full development of the new camp site.
Support for NYSC Staff
Governor Sanwo-Olu also showed his appreciation for the NYSC support staff by pledging a sum of N100 million for their benefit. This gesture is aimed at improving the welfare of those who ensure the smooth running of the NYSC program in the state. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s announcements highlight his administration’s commitment to youth development and support. The financial gifts and infrastructure investments are part of broader efforts to enhance the NYSC experience and provide better opportunities for young Nigerians.
This year alone, I will be putting available a total of N5 billion that will be used to start the full development of the permanent site for the NYSC.
