Ogun State Disburses N1bn Operational Grant to Boost Small Businesses
Ogun State Government has commenced the disbursement of the second phase of the N1 billion Operational Grant under its OG-Cares scheme. This grant aims to support Micro and Small-scale Enterprises (MSEs) in the state. The first phase in 2023 saw 1,000 micro entrepreneurs receiving N100,000 each, while small-scale entrepreneurs received N350,000 each. In this second phase, 2,822 entrepreneurs are set to benefit.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, speaking at the Obas’ Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, emphasized that this initiative is part of his administration’s “Building Our Future Together” Agenda. Represented by his Deputy, Engr. (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Abiodun highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting MSEs, which are crucial for promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.
The grant aims to help businesses navigate the tough economic realities globally. Beneficiaries were carefully selected through a strategic and inclusive process involving key stakeholders like local government chairmen, market associations, Community Development Councils, the organized private sector, the National Youth Council, and the Association of People Living with Disabilities, among others.
