The incident occurred around 9 pm on Saturday. According to Nosa Okunbor, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the driver involved in the accident fled the scene after hitting the victim. The vehicle’s registration number is not known. An eyewitness described how the vehicle struck the victim, a yet-to-be-identified adult male, before speeding away. LASEMA’s response team arrived promptly at the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the victim, who had suffered severe head injuries.

Despite the urgent care provided by the Pre-Hospital Care Unit, the victim’s injuries proved fatal. He was transported to the Trauma Centre in Gbagada for further treatment but unfortunately died there.
