The Founder and CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, has announced plans to make transportation cheaper for Nigerians by introducing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered buses. These buses are expected to hit the roads soon, offering a more affordable option for the commuting public.
Support for Tinubu’s Administration
Mr. Chukwuma also urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He mentioned that he had a productive meeting with the President at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, where they discussed the rollout of these CNG buses. He asked Nigerians to give President Tinubu some time to implement his plans, as they would soon start seeing positive changes.
CNG as the Future of Transportation
According to Mr. Chukwuma, the government’s focus on CNG is the right move for Nigeria’s transportation sector. He emphasized that CNG is cost-effective and beneficial for the country. Innoson had already begun producing vehicles that run on CNG before the government’s recent announcement. He believes that CNG-powered vehicles are the way forward and will play a significant role in Nigeria’s future.

President Tinubu’s CNG Initiative
This announcement from Innoson comes shortly after President Tinubu’s nationwide address, where he highlighted his administration’s plans to distribute one million CNG kits to commercial vehicles at little or no cost. The President pointed out that despite Nigeria’s vast oil and gas resources, the country has relied too heavily on petrol, neglecting its potential in the gas sector. The CNG initiative, according to Tinubu, will save Nigeria N2 trillion each month and help redirect funds to critical areas like healthcare and education.
