FG’s Cash Transfer Initiative: Relief for Vulnerable Nigerians 

The Federal Government of Nigeria has rolled out the Subsidy Removal Palliative Programme to ease the economic burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidies. Under this initiative, over 15 million Nigerians are receiving cash transfers of ₦25,000 to support vulnerable households. 

Alleviating Economic Hardship 

The removal of fuel subsidies earlier this year triggered a rise in the cost of living, with many households struggling to make ends meet. In response, the government designed this program to provide financial relief, targeting the most affected. The funds aim to help beneficiaries cover essential expenses, including food, transportation, and healthcare. How to Access the Cash Transfers 

To participate in the program, eligible Nigerians need to follow specific guidelines: 

    Eligibility Check: The scheme targets low-income households registered in the National Social Register (NSR). If you are not registered, contact your local government office to learn how to enroll. 

    Enrollment Process: The program uses data from the NSR to ensure funds reach those who need them most. Beneficiaries are identified through a transparent process in collaboration with community leaders and state authorities. 

    Disbursement Methods: Cash is transferred through digital payment platforms linked to beneficiaries’ bank accounts or mobile wallets. Ensure your bank details or mobile money account are up to date. 

    Verification: Ensure your information matches the details in the NSR to avoid delays in receiving funds.
