Bright Rays Care Foundation to Empower 2,000 Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs
In response to the rising youth unemployment crisis, Bright Rays Care Foundation has launched a new initiative aimed at empowering 2,000 Nigerian student entrepreneurs. The project comes amid concerns over Nigeria’s increasing unemployment rate, which, according to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, climbed to 5.3% in the first quarter of 2024 from 5.0% previously.
Addressing Youth Unemployment with ElevateNext
Amos Ogunola, Executive Director of Bright Rays Care Foundation, emphasized that fostering youth entrepreneurship is essential for curbing unemployment in Nigeria. To tackle this, the Foundation has introduced the ElevateNext project—a comprehensive training program targeting student entrepreneurs in universities nationwide. Ogunola highlighted that ElevateNext is structured as a cohort-based bootcamp delivered through a cutting-edge Learning Management System. This platform features a rich curriculum designed to equip participants with crucial business skills. Key learning modules include digital strategies for business growth, leveraging technology for scaling operations, financial literacy, budgeting, and sustainable business management.
Building a Sustainable Future
Speaking on the importance of the project, Ogunola stressed the need for a sustainable approach that supports young entrepreneurs beyond basic training. “Our goal is to create a new generation of entrepreneurs equipped not just to survive but to lead and innovate. With the ElevateNext Project, we are laying the groundwork for sustainable economic growth through education and empowerment,” Ogunola said. In addition to the training, the program will offer mentorship to guide participants through their entrepreneurial journey, helping them apply what they learn in practical and impactful ways.

Funding and Accessibility
A significant component of the ElevateNext initiative is ensuring its accessibility to students from diverse backgrounds. Ogunola expressed satisfaction that Bright Rays Care Foundation has successfully raised funds to support the project. This funding will not only cover the training itself but also support resources for participants, making the program more impactful. I have been able to raise funds on behalf of the organisation to support this initiative. As such, the foundation is committed to promoting entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, ensuring that young innovators have the resources and mentorship they need to succeed,” Ogunola stated. Through the ElevateNext project, Bright Rays Care Foundation is setting a foundation for young Nigerians to grow as entrepreneurs, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic development and reducing unemployment.
In conclusion, the ElevateNext project by Bright Rays Care Foundation is a significant step toward addressing youth unemployment in Nigeria. By providing comprehensive training, mentorship, and financial support, the initiative aims to empower student entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses and drive economic growth. This forward-thinking approach not only fosters self-reliance but also paves the way for a brighter future for Nigeria’s youth, contributing to long-term national development.
